Is it really free?
Yes. The plugin is 100% free and the certificates come from Let’s Encrypt, a free and trusted certificate authority. No license key or payment needed.
My hosting doesn’t provide SSL — will this work?
Yes, as long as your domain points to your server. On cPanel hosting the certificate is installed automatically. On other hosting the plugin shows the certificate, private key and CA bundle so you can paste them into your host’s SSL panel.
What happens when the certificate expires?
Let’s Encrypt certificates are valid for 90 days. The plugin renews them automatically before they expire.
Can HTTPS break my site?
Force HTTPS only turns on after a trusted certificate is detected. If anything goes wrong, add define('BWPSSL_DISABLE', true); to wp-config.php to switch the plugin off instantly.
